Ms. Prescott will serve as Director of Public Relations for the Organization.
Cricket Prescott previously held various positions at television’s KPSP Local 2, now known as CBS Local 2, since August 2004. Her duties included Special Events Coordinator, Promotion Manager, and Director of Public Affairs for the station. Her position at the CBS affiliate allowed her the opportunity to deal directly with local non-profits through the station’s philanthropic endeavors. “My passion has always been to pay it forward and help others here in the Valley”, says Cricket. It just so happened that one of those local non-profits she worked with while at CBS was Parkinson’s Resource Organization. “Jo Rosen, President and Founder of PRO, is an amazing woman who has made it her life’s mission to find ‘Quality of Life’ for people affected by Parkinson’s until a cure is found. Her newest mission is funding, what she believes is, the cure for Parkinson’s. I want to help be a part of these missions”, stated Cricket.
With the launching of PRO’s WELLNESS VILLAGE, a virtual one-click resource for the Parkinson’s community and a targeted audience for professionals providing services to that community, Cricket will develop and employ new strategies to “keep the conversation going.” Jo Rosen said, “I am so excited to have Cricket on board. Together with the WELLNESS VILLAGE and Cricket’s expertise, a larger Parkinson’s community will be better served”.
Parkinson’s Resource Organization (PRO), is a social, nonprofit, charitable organization founded in 1990 dedicated to providing educational and emotional support, information and referral services, including the WELLNESS VILLAGE where people and families affected by Parkinson’s can virtually find what they are looking for with one click. PRO also holds a network of support group meetings throughout Southern California and conducts one-on-one coaching globally. PRO occupies a unique place among Parkinson’s groups by focusing on “LIVING” with Parkinson’s. Professionals providing services to the community are invited to call about the WELLNESS VILLAGE and participate in its launching.
