Dr. Stephen M. Winber, DDS, MPS has been involved in the treatment of various neuromuscular conditions for more than 40 years. As prosthetic consultant to the Cleft Palate Team at Denver Children’s Hospital he designed and fabricated a wide variety of appliances, both for cleft palate patients as well as those with speech problems due to muscular weakness and/or dysfunction.
For the past 23 years, Dr. Winber has limited his practice to the diagnosis and treatment of Temporomandibular joint disorders, head, neck, and facial pain, and neuromuscular disorders. He has had over 3000 hours of postgraduate education in these fields and holds Diplomate status in the American Board of Craniofacial Pain, the American Board of Orofacial Pain, the American Academy of Pain Management, and the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, as well as a Mastership in the International College of Craniomandibular Orthopedics.
Dr. Winber received his DDS from Columbia University and his Masters degree from Lynn University. He has lectured to both lay and professional groups locally, nationally, and internationally.
Dr. Winber’s approach to treatment is a collaborative one, involving other treating disciplines, such as physical therapy, neurology, rehabilitation, etc. and – most importantly – the patient, whose education and emotional support are, as they should be, the center of our treatment efforts.
