It’s the people behind the scenes at PRO that makes us the special resource organization that we are. Each month we take our readers behind the scenes and introduce one person from the PRO team.

Barbara Bean

Administrative Assistant

1. Describe your role with PRO.

“I wear many hats at PRO. My primary roles at PRO are data entry and compiling personalized thank you letters for donations to the organization. I also assist with events, proofread various documents, and problem solve whenever I can.”

2. What inspired you to come work with PRO?

“My father and one of my uncles had Parkinson's. I didn't really know much about Parkinson's at the time and knew I needed to know more. I started doing some volunteering for COPS (which was the original name of PRO). When I moved back to Los Angeles I attended support group meetings and volunteered at most of the fundraising events in Los Angeles and the Coachella Valley. When I moved back to the desert from Los Angeles, I was asked if I'd like to come to work at PRO! That was four years ago!”

3. What is a fun fact about you?

“I am a cat person (Pearl Gray is the wonderful cat of the moment ), I love trivia, books, crossword puzzles, and traveling. I like to think of myself as an idea person, sometimes they are epic ideas, sometimes they fail!!”
