MEET THE PRO TEAM-JOHN WHITE

Category: Newsworthy Notes

It’s the people behind the scenes at PRO that makes us the special resource organization that we are. This month, meet John White.

1. Describe your role with PRO.

I serve as Co-Chair of the Board of Directors, which includes helping expand awareness of PRO throughout The Coachella Valley. One of our signature achievements is the Parkinson’s Today Symposium, presented in partnership with The Michael J. Fox Foundation. Every initiative we undertake is centered on connecting people living with Parkinson’s — and their caregivers — to meaningful resources, education, and support. The symposium is a powerful example of that mission in action.

2. What inspired you to come work with PRO?

My wife and I first connected with PRO when my sister-in-law was living with Parkinson’s. We were struggling to navigate complex insurance issues to ensure she received the care she needed. PRO stepped in and guided us in the right direction. That experience demonstrated how PRO supports not only individuals with Parkinson’s, but also the caregivers and families walking alongside them.

3. What is a fun fact about you?

I’m an avid Chicago Cubs fan, having grown up in the Chicagoland area before moving to Palm Springs in 1991. While I consider myself a generally terrible golfer, I do have two holes-in-one to my credit — including one on “Alcatraz,” the iconic 17th island green at the PGA West Stadium Course.
