PRO OUT AND ABOUT: COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT - FEBRUARY 2026
Category: Newsworthy NotesJanuary was a meaningful month of connection and visibility for Parkinson’s Resource Organization (PRO), highlighted by a significant moment of community support that will help sustain our work throughout the year.
On January 21, PRO was honored to attend the BIGHORN Cares Donor and Recipient Awards Dinner, where the philanthropic arm of BIGHORN Golf Club Charities recognized nonprofit partners making a lasting impact across the Coachella Valley. PRO was proud to be named a grant recipient and received a $15,000 grant to help keep our programs and services funded and free for everyone. This generous support directly strengthens PRO’s ability to provide education, support groups, advocacy, and outreach for people living with Parkinson’s and their care partners. Community investments like this bolsters our mission to ensure that no one is isolated because of Parkinson’s, and we are deeply grateful to BIGHORN Cares for its continued commitment to meaningful, measurable local impact.
Earlier in the month, Executive Director Eileen Lynch attended the Palm Desert Area Chamber of Commerce’s first Business Breakfast of 2026 at the Classic Club. The event featured a timely overview of new employment laws taking effect this year, a City of Palm Desert update, and valuable opportunities to connect with local business and civic leaders. Engagement with the Chamber helps PRO stay informed, visible, and connected within the broader business community.
Eileen also participated in the California Desert Plein Air Festival, which celebrates artists painting live across Palm Springs and Palm Desert, culminating in an exhibition at the Artists Center. Events like this highlight the creative spirit of our region and reinforce the importance of arts, culture, and community well-being.
Together, these moments of engagement reflect PRO’s commitment to showing up, building relationships, and strengthening the community networks that support our mission every day.
