PRO OUT AND ABOUT: COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT - MAY 2026

Category: Newsworthy Notes

April was a vibrant and meaningful month for Parkinson’s Resource Organization, as our team embraced Parkinson’s Awareness Month (PAM) through connection, celebration, and community impact across The Coachella Valley and beyond.

One of the highlights of the month was our signature fundraising event, Chocolate & Champagne — an evening that beautifully blended purpose with celebration. Held at Palm Springs Surf Club on April 8, the soirée brought together supporters, partners, and community members for a night of indulgence and generosity. Guests enjoyed decadent desserts, flowing champagne, live entertainment, and exciting auctions. Events like this are more than just memorable evenings — they are critical in helping fund the resources, education, and one-on-one support that PRO provides to individuals and families navigating Parkinson’s every day.

Just days later, the spirit of community continued with the 5th Annual PRO on the Move “Walk, Ride, or Roll” fundraiser. This inspiring, volunteer-led event united participants not only across The Coachella Valley but throughout the country. Supporters came together to honor loved ones and celebrate those living with Parkinson’s. Whether walking, cycling, or rolling, each participant contributed towards creating awareness.

In addition to these cornerstone events, PRO’s presence extended even further... Executive Director Eileen Lynch attended a Parkinson’s Advocacy Day at the California State Capital Building in Sacramento on April 13. The buzzing convention was brimming with people who are united to find a cure and improve quality of life with Parkinson’s.

Throughout Parkinson’s Awareness Month, every conversation, event, and connection reinforced the importance of visibility and support. At PRO, community engagement is at the heart of everything we do. From elegant fundraisers to grassroots events and everyday outreach, our mission remains the same: working so no one is isolated because of Parkinson’s.

We are deeply grateful to our sponsors and everyone who participated, volunteered, and donated in support of PRO and PAM this month. Your involvement fuels our mission and strengthens the community we are proud to serve.
