Herb Goetz

Herb Goetz

March 17, 1927 - September 23, 2003

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, son-in-law, uncle and friend. Herb arrived on the streets of Brooklyn, NY on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1927. Herb served in the Navy during WWII as a radio gunner. Herb's coming of age was experienced in the warm winter months in Miami and during the steamy dog days of summer in the Catskills. Herb caught the fashion bug early and had great success in all aspects of the Menswear Industry. Herb was a hard worker and took pride in what he did. Herb was a happy man who really enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest, a passion he passed down to his children and grandchildren. In recent years Herb suffered from Lewy Bodies Disease. Every time the disease tried to knock him down, Herb would put up a fight. His spirit didn't give up. That's why loved one's fondly referred to him as the "Come Back Kid". Herb passed away early Tuesday morning, September 23, 2003. Herb is in peace.

Fred Edwards

July 3, 1921 - March 6, 2003

Born Leslie Entwisle Edwards, July 3rd, 1921, in Los Angeles. One of his greatest virtues was his enthusiasm for life, and the knowledge and wisdom that flowed from him seemed to be boundless so that his many friends were enriched and rewarded simply by knowing him. His patience and perseverance, facing the debilitating effects of Parkinson's Disease should well be a source of inspiration for many, as they shared a sense of admiration for his gentle good humor, his cheerful attitude, and his unfailing warmth.

Fred attended Beverly Hills High School and USC until the onset of WWII when he joined the U.S. Army Air Corps. He fought in the Pacific Theater of Operation with the P-38 Fighter Squadron. He was decorated with merit for the battles of New Guinea, Southern Philippines, and Borneo. A Master Mason, Fred received the Golden Veteran's Award commemorating his fifty years of Masonic service. He was a 32nd Degree Brother of Scottish Rite Freemasonry, and his charity and generosity were known to all his brethren as well as to all who had the privilege and pleasure of knowing him, socially as well as in business.

Fred is survived by his loving wife, Trudy, who supported him valiantly in his battle against Parkinson's through the last 20 years of their marriage, and by his children - his daughter, Jennifer and her husband Barry, as well as his son, Stephen, his wife, Patricia, and Fred's two beloved grandchildren, Heidi and Zachary.

It can truly be said of Fred Edwards that throughout his lifetime, despite the loss of his health, but not his vitality, he always found blue skies above his head, good friends to surround him, and laughter and joy aplenty.
