How PRO Helps The Families Of Those Living With Parkinson's
Support Group Meetings (5 Types)
(For Caregivers only) Share the ups and downs of living with somebody with Parkinson's. Together there are ways of finding solutions that, when alone, might never be considered. Release your frustrations because you are not alone. Give yourself a break.
We invite the community, especially the Person with Parkinson's, and their family or friends, are urged to attend. Educational meetings usually feature guest speakers who are professionals servicing the Parkinson's Community. Educational meetings are packed with a wealth of amazing information. Bring your pencil and notepad!
"Round Table" Meetings
Join a loving circle of like-minded individuals including local professionals. Learn what works for others, share what works for you. Find out what doesn't work for certain individuals. Share emotional trials and tribulations. Realize that you are not alone and that others can relate to and learn from your story.
This is a monthly support group for people who have Parkinson’s Disease and their caregivers led by Medical Hypnotherapist, Roger Moore. In these support group meetings, you will learn skills to help you improve your sleep, to overcome trauma, depression, stress, anxiety, fear, and exhaustion. And, you will find out how you can improve your health, strengthen your resilience and enhance your coping skills.
PRO's Grief Group
WHAT IS GRIEF? It is about experiencing losses. Facilitated by Glendon Geikie, MSW, IELDA, CGCS, who gracefully stated grief is so much more than “The End OF Life”. Grief for a person with Parkinson’s may happen as they start grieving their losses of movement, Grief for a Partner in Care may start as they start losing the partner relationship they once knew, and grief for a child may start as they witness what appears to be “losing their hero”. The meetings cover Anticipatory Grief, Loss of Movement Grief, Loss of Relationship Grief, and Eternal loss, forever Loss. If you are suffering losses, this meeting may be just for you.
MOVEMENT – USE IT OR LOSE IT
PRO’s newest SPECIALTY GROUP is launching this month and is facilitated by Brandon Rosi, DPT, CSCS, Cert MSKUS.
A time for discovery. Exercise - How do we start? Where do we start? What do we need? Can we work together? Should we work together? How do we get the most out of exercise? What am I looking for from exercise? How do I exercise if I can barely, or cannot, walk? When should I start? What time of the day should I exercise? What should I wear? Are my shoes important? Do I need shoes? Bring your questions and let’s talk with Dr. Rosi.

Remembering and Honoring Those Who Have Passed
The Memorial Wall
The Parkinson’s Resource Organization Memorial Wall is dedicated to honoring those who lost their battle with Parkinson’s disease or Parkinsonisms. Over the years, Parkinson’s Resource Organization, at the requests of families and friends, has been asked to create this special way of honoring their loved one to carry on their legacy, and to design a place for healing those who were left behind.
